Blackwood Hills Baptist Church Inc. has joined the National Redress Scheme as a member of Baptist Churches of South Australia. The National Redress Scheme provides acknowledgement and support to people who experienced institutional child sexual abuse and was created in response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. More information about the participation of Baptist Churches of Australia in the National Redress Scheme is available on the BCSA website.

Our Story
It’s incredible what ordinary people can do when they trust an extraordinary God.
Village Church is part of the Baptist Churches of South Australia and grew out of Blackwood Hills Baptist Church.
Since 1939 Blackwood Hills has had a strong history of community involvement, children and youth programmes, and a global vision.
In 2004, we moved to a larger facility in Blackwood and became Blackwood Hills Baptist Church. This was a substantial step of faith and characterizes the sacrificial and generous, faith-filled and risk-taking people who make up our Church.
Since 2009 it has been the vision of Blackwood Hills Baptist Church to plant Churches in Adelaide. In 2010, a group of 35 adults stepped out to plant a church campus, Village Church Melrose Park. After 18 months of prayer and preparation, Village Church Norwood was also launched in February 2015.
In 2011 we planted a Village Church in Melrose Park and in 2015 a congregation in Norwood.
75 years ago in 1939, eight people began meeting in Eden Hills, Adelaide – the birthplace of our church. By all accounts they were just ordinary people.
